Advent Prayer 2025

Dear Jesus, it is through you that we may have life abundantly.

We know that you are with us now, as we gather in your name, to discern what is ours to do in the new year. Help us to be open to your loving spirit.

The values of nonviolence embrace respect, honesty, justice, and wholesome relationships, which affirm the Advent message of hope, peace, joy, and love.

This past year has brought chaos and doubt for the future, but in this Advent season, let us contemplate the creation of positive change and what is within our hands to nurture meaningful actions and fruitful results.

Jesus, you have told us that you are present in those suffering from many forms of poverty, the greatest form of violence. You blessed the poor and called us to serve the most vulnerable. Let us follow your teaching.

Guide us and show us ways to lift up our voices through peaceful actions, and enable us to move forward with hope in the realization of the justice that brings joy and love to all of creation.
